I do my annual budgets in it, pull monthly reports on my spending, track my 401k, ira, all kinds of shit. It's a weird little quirk, but I like to budget at least a month or two in advance, and I can imagine if your income and outgo are not pretty steady it would make it much worse. But aside from that option, you have no way to plan next months budget until the 1st of that month actually hits. It's hard to explain unless you see it, but basically you can set your budget items in the current month to "every month" or "one time only". Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no way to budget ahead of the month. The one downside to Mint, and there is no solution that I have found, is its budgeting tab. The only extra legwork I have to do is go in to manually re-categorize a few transactions every few days, but again mint is surprisingly good at working on its own.

Mint is really awesome and is compatible with all of my accounts, loans, credit lines, and retirement accounts I can't believe how easy it is to set up.
